Every principal who has sat through three ERP demos in a week knows the feeling: each one promises everything, and the brochures all look the same. This page puts ten platforms that Indian schools actually shortlist side by side, using only what each vendor says on its own website, so you can see where they really differ before you book a demo.

What it doesn't do yet: WhatsApp alerts, bus routes, library and hostel are set up on request, so raise them early. Parents get push alerts in the app as standard.

Best for: Budget-conscious Maharashtra schools that want WhatsApp and one flat price.

Worth asking: How daily substitution works, and what support looks like at that price.

Schoolites

Best for: Schools that want WhatsApp-first communication with parents.

Worth asking: Whether timetable, substitution and staff payroll are part of the plan.

Skolaro

Best for: Schools that want a very long module list (50+) including sibling discounts and instalments.

Worth asking: The price for the modules you will actually switch on.

Teachmint

Best for: Schools investing in Teachmint X classroom panels and online tests.

Worth asking: Its standalone fee management page says that module was discontinued. Ask in writing what the ERP includes today.

Vidyalaya

Best for: Schools that want WhatsApp, Tally, biometrics, hostel and library from one vendor.

Worth asking: The price and the onboarding timeline for your size.

Why schools choose ZeroSuite

Other platforms list more modules. Schools pick ZeroSuite for how the daily work actually runs:

  • One login for the whole school. Student records, fees, attendance, report cards, staff attendance, leave and payroll, the timetable and daily substitution all live in one system. Nothing to stitch together, no second vendor for HR.
  • Cover sorted before assembly. When a teacher calls in sick, you get a ranked, clash-checked list of who is genuinely free, spread fairly so the same few teachers are not always the ones pulled in.
  • Fee money goes straight to your school. Parents pay by UPI, card or net banking into the school's own Razorpay account, never ours. A payment only counts once Razorpay confirms it, receipts issue on their own, automatic reminders reach parents' phones before and after the due date, and receipts export to Tally.
  • The Principal signs off before parents see marks. Subject teachers enter marks, the Principal approves or returns each sheet, and the report card reaches the parent app only when it is released. No half-finished marks leak out.
  • Attendance you can defend. Every correction needs a reason and is logged, the parent is told again when a mark changes, and declaring a rain closure clears the false absences for the day.
  • Student data protected like it matters. Aadhaar, caste and dates of birth are encrypted, admin sign-in uses two-factor codes, every sensitive action is logged, and consent, access requests and data retention follow India's DPDP Act.
  • Pay only for what you switch on. Modules are switched on per school, so you pay only for the screens your school actually uses.
  • Your school's own app, and a founder who picks up. Each school gets a branded Android app in its own name. Support comes directly from the team that builds the product, in Maharashtra, on the phone and WhatsApp.

  • Ask each for the full yearly price for your student count, including SMS or WhatsApp credits and the payment gateway.

  • Ask how you export your own data if you leave.
  • Run the demo with your own class list, not their sample school.

There is no single best one. The right school ERP is the one that does your three most time-consuming jobs well at a price you can keep paying. For a WhatsApp-first parent experience, Schoolites and Pathshala lead on price. For a very long module list, Skolaro, Edunext and Vidyalaya list the most. For a published price with plans, Fedena is the clearest. If you want the ERP, timetable, daily substitution and payroll on one login, that is what ZeroSuite is built for.

How much does a school ERP cost in India?

Of the ten platforms here, four publish a price: Pathshala ERP at Rs 15,000 a year for the whole school, Schoolites at Rs 3,000 once plus Rs 10 per student a month, Fedena at Rs 50,000, 75,000 or 1,00,000 a year plus GST, and ZeroSuite's timetable from Rs 499 a month. The rest quote per school. Always ask what WhatsApp or SMS credits and the payment gateway add on top.

Which school ERPs handle teacher substitution?

Fedena, Skolaro, Campus 24x7 and ZeroSuite name substitute teacher allocation on their own pages, and Vidyalaya describes proxy settings in its timetable module. For the others we could not find it on their public pages, so ask them directly.

Is this comparison biased because ZeroSuite wrote it?
